Getting there & around

What are the requirements for travelling to Mexico?

You will need a passport to travel internationally. Don't forget to ensure your passport is valid for at least six months after your return travel date! You will also need to fill out the Mexican FMM (Forma Migratoria Múltiple), also known as a tourist card, which can be filled out on arrival in Mexico.

How do I get there?

The nearest airport is San José del Cabo International Airport (SJD) which is ~40 min from Corazon. Due to local regulations, visitors are unable to get an Uber from the airport (but you can to the airport), and so transfers must be booked in advance. Last time we visited, we booked a one-way transfer from the airport to the hotel, and used Uber to return to the airport (which was much cheaper).

We have booked with Estevez Transfers in the past and they were great! Friendly drivers, with nice cars, and cool drinks on arrival. They have offered our guests $85 one way SUV transfers (or $160 return) from SJD to the downtown Cabo San Lucas Area. Code is ‘Leah’ to book. You can text +52 624 156 2634 with your name, arrival time, and flight details to schedule. Alternatively, there are lots of other options if you search ‘SJD to Cabo San Lucas airport transfers.’

Where should I stay?

Our ideal is to spend as much time together as we can, all in one place: Corazon Cabo. We have negotiated rates to as low as $275/night for the 3 days before and after the wedding (April 28-May 3). This hotel is gorgeous, boasts incredible views, and is situated right in the heart of the action downtown. It also happens to be a 15 minute walk from the Marina, and a 2 minute walk from the ceremony and reception at SUR Beach House!

If you'd like to stay at Corazon, we encourage you to book ASAP to secure the rate -- heads up, Corazon will charge you for 2 nights upfront as a deposit to secure the booking: Corazon special booking link

If looking elsewhere, all events are in downtown Cabo San Lucas, and there are plenty of other hotels and Airbnb options that will also be conveniently situated.

Should I hire a car?

We wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re planning on travelling longer distances before/after the wedding. Everything wedding-related is centrally located downtown in Cabo San Lucas and most amenites are easily reached on-foot or by calling an Uber.

Exploring Cabo

Spectacular hiking

Cerro de la Z and Fox Canyon offer contrasting hikes near Cabo: panoramic city and coastal views on the challenging mountain trail versus a refreshing oasis with waterfalls in the desert canyon. Choose your adventure; a breathtaking summit or secluded natural retreat.

Marine life at the Marina

As fishermen return to the Marina at sunset to clean their catch, the area becomes a lively spectacle of pelicans swooping for scraps and noisy sea lions chasing them. A stroll through the Marina at this time offers the chance to witness this animated display of marine life and local fishing culture.
